History

The Riverina Field Days evolved from a field day which had previously been held at Yanco from 1988 to 2006 and was owned and operated by local Griffith media interests WIN Television & Radio 2RG, Griffith. The Riverina Field Days are always held on the second Friday & Saturday in May each year.

In July 2006 the event found a new owner, new home and was given a new name ‘The Riverina Field Days’ and is now held at the Griffith Showgrounds under the auspice of the Coro Club. The Griffith Showgrounds became the ideal venue as it provides a great deal of infrastructure already in place- with ample room, parking, toilet facilities, power and more. The Coro Club contributes a generous fee to the Griffith Showground Trust each year for the use of the grounds.

Since moving the event to a new area with a much larger population base, the event has seen a marked increase in crowd numbers year after year.

Wines Grapes Marketing Board have been a proud major sponsor since the move to Griffith and continue to be the Major Sponsor for 2018.

The Riverina Field Days has fast become an event on Griffith’s calender that’s not to be missed. Each year attendance has boomed due to the ever evolving range of attractions & quality exhibitors. It is successful because of the right combination of family & kids attractions, entertainment, food, unique demonstrations, machinery and farming exhibitors. This region produces the best quality food and fibre products and is widely known as the ‘food bowl’. The Riverina Field Days is the perfect opportunity to showcase the best farming practices and technology from all industries.

The Riverina Field Days is the only field day being held in the M.I.A.
